Green Planet Waste Management (GPWM) was an active participant at the launch of NDTV's annual event Toyota Greenathon-4 with bollywood actress Priynaka Chopra. The key focus of Greenathon this year has been waste management and it's repercussions in India. The event was kicked-off at the banks of Yamuna river in Agra right beside the beautiful Taj Mahal, many local school children with few NGOs were also present. The show was live aired on NDTV 24x7 from 3:30 PM on 9th April, 2012 (VIDEO). The objective of  cleaning waste from the rivers brought many to this dirty shores of Yamuna and got their hands on for making some difference including Priyanka!
NDTV invited few celebrity and expert guests to take their views on this scenario of managing the plastic waste going into the rivers and what can be done to stop it. Our Managing Director Mr. Rajesh Mittal presented his excellent insights on how the plastic can be recycled and what role as an industry is taking, his thoughts were appreciated by all including Mr. Abhishek Mishra, Minister for State Protocol, U.P. who even extended an invitation for the recycling industry to Uttar Pradesh.
Other members from our team included Mr. Rakesh Solanki, Mr Gopal Jha, Mr. Sanjev Banik and Mr. Rakesh Sharma with other members of Plastic Manufactures and Traders Association, Delhi (PMTA) and The Indian Center for Plastics in the Environment (ICPE).
